New Delhi, 27th November 2014: (IANS) India declares launching e-visa
(electronic visa) facility to tourists for 43 countries like US, Japan, Israel,
Palestine and others in order to encourage tourism industry as well as Indian airlines to provide trouble-free travel to international
visitors.
Tourist Visa
on Arrival service enabled with electronic travel authorization (ETA) scheme has
been launched by Rajnath Singh (Union Home Minister) and Mahesh Sharma (union
Culture and Tourism Minister).
Rajnath
Singh stated, "Because of its amazing geographical location, India has a
unique advantage in tourism industry and abundance of diversity in weather
conditions is hard to find with other countries".
“Rich
cultural heritage of India can be seen in Indian history and safety,
cleanliness and hospitality are all about what tourists expect in India”, Mahesh
Sharma stressed.
Other than
above mentioned countries, tourists from Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Cook
Islands, Djibouti, Micronesia, Fiji, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Jordan,
Kenya, Tonga, Laos, Luxembourg, Mauritius, Mexico, Myanmar, New Zealand, Niue,
Norway, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Kiribati, South Korea, Marshall
Islands, Nauru, Palau, Russia, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Thailand,
Tuvalu, UAE, Ukraine, Vietnam and Vanuatu also can take benefit of getting
e-visa just by following four-simple steps at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/Visa_VOA/tvoa.html
Under electronic
visa, tourists can get entry in India within 30 days from the date of ETA’s approval
they will be allowed to stay for 30 days from arrival date. Though the facility
can be extended to other countries in a phased manner.
Entry and
departure for tourists will be allowed once they are done to book
cheap air tickets India
for flying from nine international airports including Delhi, Hyderabad,
Kolkata, Mumbai, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kochi. With
this facility, tourists can take pleasure of usual sightseeing as well as
recreational activities. Moreover, tourism ministry of India has also decided
to include other facilities such as casual business visit and medical visit for
short duration.
As per officials,
75 Tourist Visa On Arrival counters will be set there at nine international
airports in order to provide easy transaction.
“Checking background
of tourists will be performed through ready to use database and TVOA counters
will perform as first stage of tourists’ personal interaction with the
authority”, P.K.Bhardwaj, the Joint Director of immigration department said.
